Well... I guess some of them are positioned in such way they look like show dogs. Carly Policia looked like that in the first official pictures posted on the net.
Yeah, I believe that because it's the typical presentation posture, but in some cases we can clearly see if the dog - even placed in the presentation position - has a straight back or a curved one. My believe is that Olf had a pretty angulated back.

Ok, take this one, Haug v Trafalga - I actually like the dog, in fact it reminds me of Viktor ad W but I see the "show" tendencies in place already.. Zorro on the other hand, with a straighter back and somewhat rougher shapes altogether, clearly seems to me to be closer to the old type.

Haug

Don vom Trafalga was brought into Australia in the mid 70's as a show dog..
Don's genetics combined well with West German lines who's lines traced back to Marko v Cellerland and
Mutz von der Pelztierfarm and Ingo vom Hafenlohrtal who was linbred on Rolf vom Osnabruckerland..
Rolf was the paternal Grandsire of Ali v Granert and this as we know is the foundation line of many great DDR lines
A number of very good dog's were produced with the combination mentioned above..
Casso has predominately dog's in his bloodline tracing back to Don v Trafalga multiple times..

Reg, am not saying a dog like Haug (for example) was not good in terms of temperament, what I am saying though is that you can see the breeders already were selecting/promoting dogs keeping (also) count of what the West breeders were breeding/promoting/selling. besides, I actually like Haug!! My goodness, I would love to have a Haug in my backyard right now!! But going back to what I was saying, take Lito v Trafalga, you will see he resembles quite a bit the west show line dogs. Point in case, the East breeders clearly embraced the west mentality.. I believe it was Gerlinde Schultze who wrote an article (or she was interviewed) and she was an exception to the "rule" at the time, refusing to breed anything but what she considered to be DDR type.

Imi place mult catelusa asta, are o constructie mai a la old school, imi place ca nu e agitata (colerica) iar contactul cu atentatorul e puternic. Cum ziceam, imi place mult! 4,5-5 Zorro LW
