Just sharing my point of view ... one can always registered on dog that has no paper pedigree / family background with a DNA as support, and from there  ... work the way along ... it served better and more accurate than the paper pedigree!

True that Leo with science these days, this in my view is the future..
Slowly people might wake up and realise what there after is genetics scientifically and what they can see for themselves in the K9...!

With time and with conversation with people like John, I came to learn that knowing what's "behind" the dog foes play a crucial part..
Still, when I like NONE of the dogs I see that come with pedigree (and what the dog produces) I then look at other dogs, regardless of papers. That's how I did the Dino breeding and I feel I will be doing that sort of breeding again... In the eyes of many (or few..) that is wrong, just wrong ("how could he do that! He calls himself a breeder") but hey, let time tell if I made the wrong decisions, right?
I believe there is also a big "science" behind papers.. some make big money because of selling good papers, not good dogs. There are A LOT of BAD dogs with GOOD papers - and I am sure we all know that.

do you know who stopped "keeping it real"? Breeders have! And now, those interested in such dogs are having a hard time finding some. One of my frustration comes from knowing there are those who are not informed on all these aspects and they want a good, hard GSD and end up either with an over angulated fluffy dog, or a sable dog with loads of drive.

Leo, I am also a "nobody" on the field. If you think about it, some of those who call themselves "somebody" on the field, they are actually "high class crooks". Maybe they were once big names, but their more recent activity proved anything BUT that.
While SC, FCI etc etc would only promote the paper type they want, some amazing dogs just turn into history because they don't have such papers.
I sooooooooo regret not keeping a Ben progeny when I had the chance.. people around me kept telling me he is of no value really, because he has no papers.. I really, really regret that   .......

Pot sa spun ca eu am un nucleu de caini de caini buni care sper prin programul de reproductie sa fac o selectie riguroasasi sa obtin cainele cu caracterul pe care il doresc. In programul de crestere conteaza cel mai mult selectia indivizilor dupa  anumite caractere, asa s-au format toate rasele de animale Poti sa faci rasa Labrador sa fie caine de paza in cateva generatii daca selectezi indivizii cu potential agresiv.

I believe there are still good dogs in Europe but they are not known. I can say I have a number of good dogs and in time I hope I can produce the type of character I am looking for. In a breeding program the most important is to select the right dog based on character traits, that's how animal breeds came to be. You can turn a Labrador in a watch dog in a few generations if you keep selecting the aggressive ones.

Da, asa e, inca mai gasesti caini buni.. dar trebuie sa cauti bine....
