Dani This looks very good I think Pele is about 9 yrs old in this photo. This male had a great zpt and was a highly trained dog.It was said that the decoys did not enjoy catching him."Crushing bites". He was a large Grey dog and as you can see in this photo his age is showing very much. I Can tell you Pele is a half brother to  Bronco vom Kiebitzmoor
and i have a very large son Enno vom Ostschutz he has the crushing grip that seems to come from this bloodline.
John

Dani, poza asta arata bine, mi se pare ca Pele are 9 ani in poza.

It seems that Fels v. Kemmlerblick ZPT 6543/55 would in my opinion be the ultimate on a score card..

se pare ca Fels v. Kemmlerblick ZPT 6543/55 ar fi punctat cel mai tare in chart

Powerfull   Puternic
Ideal         Ideal
Good Angulation     Angulatie buna
Reseved suspicious or aggressive    rezervat suspicios sau agresiv
Very good   Foarte bine
Very good   Foarte bine

The fourth digit being a score of "3" which means { reserved, suspicious or aggressive } has not been given to many dogs at all.. Only a few like Ex Reidstern and Fels v Kimmlerblick have this score of "3"..
And it seems very rare to see a score of "4" which is an aggressive, sharp, hard and dangerous..
Would it be better to to use a dog with a score of "3" or "4" in the fourth digit, to produce more naturally suspicious/sharp dogs..

This is when the ddr breed books come in handy. It would tell you what year and age the Kor: or ZPT was tested on that dog. If the Kor or Zpt was taken at a young age lets say 2 yrs old these numbers can and were increased at a later age. Why because as the ddr matured and the hardness kicked in and in many line 3yrs and older.
The 4th number could be different at a mature age and then what kind or type of dogs do you wish to own/breed. The Gsd has been changed over the past 20 something years to tone down or remove this aggression/ sharpness to avoid liability. Today most people do not want the very hard dogs they want extreme ball and prey drive.

While we're talking about ZPT.. which dog scored highest in the DDR?

Also, John maybe you can mention a few things that are overlooked about the DDR dogs, so people visiting this section could be well informed.

Chiar imi place atitudinea cainelui.

Although it's being said the DDR dogs have less drive, the Lord Gleisdreieck shows plenty drive. To also add to this, have a look at Gomez v.d Grauen Monstab (grandson of Don Haus Iris). I actually like that dog's attitude.

Gomez is an extremely focused dog and seems like he could of been trained for any purpose, he has plenty of drive/concentration..
Would like to know what the difference is between DDR and West dogs of today ? Besides bone structure and darker pigmentation !
If its true that they have toned down sharper/hard dogs and people want prey/high drive..!!
Its taken half a century to get only a hand full of well noted hard dogs/producers of DDR breed, and within 2 decades the word "DDR" is on a piece of paper but the marjority not really in spirit shape or form...!!

The statement of the DDR dogs is true 100% But it does not mean every dog. There are dogs that have great drive like dani states. My dog Ebony would surprise most anti ddr people. The DDr dogs have always been known for balance.Today the most are bred for sales and not so much for work

Speaking of females, thought i might mention Illa von der Mittelhauser Flur or well known 'oldie' Burga v Haus Himpel...
Both well known females which are sometimes overlooked...!

Ambele fiind femele foarte bune dar adesea neluate in atentie...!

Hello Reg
I like Burga she is in a class by herself. The ddr knew this and did some real breeding with her.
Most people would not know this and today it would not surprise me that people would this is a bad way to breed. But the results were some very tough dogs. Take a very close look at this  and it was done more then once

Salut Reg
