Title: Narys Policia Slovakia
Post by: ShepherdsByDesignK9 on December 28, 2011, 01:54:53 PM
Here are a few pictures to hold you until I can locate his video's. one of these photo's are of him @ 3 years old and the rest are recent pictures of him as he just turned 11 yrs old in November and still demands attention as if he was a youngster. He has produced some nice dog in his breeding career which I am lucky to have had 2 sons of his here Ghost and Titus, although we lost Titus in October of Lymphoma cancer at the young age of 8 yrs old. And the 2nd to last photo is of Narys and his late mate Rena Zlodef Slnecnic ( Car Policia daughter and the dam to our Titus Vom Ramhausen ). We do have 1 breeding planned for Narys in 2012

He definitely has that look of the old Czech dog, thick bones, dark sable.. in that first, smaller picture, he looks fantastic!

Are intr-adevar aspectul cainelui tipic cehesc, oase groase, sur inchis.. in prima poza, cea mica, arata superb!

In the other pictures he has some age to him and we don't work him very hard anymore in fear of injury. I will have to locate the picture of him, Titus his son and Tyson his grandson and you will be able to see that this line hasn't changed much as long as you breed to the correct dogs

Well now, looking forward to those pictures.
What's your say on Faro dogs..? Or on Faro altogether..  I think the toughest dogs I've seen, of Czech lines, came from Faro and Mambo (although there's west blood in Mambo, too).

What I do know about Faro was that he was an hip improver which came from his dam Fattyma, As for the type of dog he was I have received conflicting information. I was told he wasn't as dominant dog as what I like to see in my guy's. I will give that up to get the dogs that will improve on hips, this is why I have built my kennel around Faro. I have a son and a daughter     ( Narys Policia Slovakia & Pandora Van Den Heuvel ) and sons and daughters of theirs here. Last year I did a 3/3 line breed on Faro and other dogs which proved to be very successful. Here is the pedigree in which produced this awesome litter

http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/german_shepherd_dog/dog.html?id=731894 (http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/german_shepherd_dog/dog.html?id=731894)

I will be repeating a close to this breeding although the sire will be Ghost instead of Titus due to Titus passing away in October. I wish I could only get another male or female from frozen Faro semen to continue to do these type of breeding for the future. I feel this is how I will be able to preserve Faro's lines for the future.

Now you talk about Mambo z Pohranicni Straze, I'm not really a person in which likes what Mambo has produced in the U.S., Maybe it could have been the pairings or maybe issues that are popping up from Mambo'a sire as he wasn't a great producer in my eyes. Only time will tell how great of a dog he is from all of his offspring and what they produced

Well.. I received conflicting info (to use the term you did) on Mambo, coming from the States. Some say he ain't all that of a producer and some say Mambo is the only dog they would use in their breeding.. I guess it does come down to what females he was bred.
From a very reliable source I also know he has produced some bad elbows, but again, so far we have had some good dogs around here, out of Mambo, mainly through Cheros Policia Slovakia.

I love it when, checking out the pedigree above, I bump into DDR dogs not far back

I am not trying to upset you in any way Dan. I hope you are not getting your information from Hans @ Alpine K-9 as he and Jiri were the one responsible for bring him to the U.S. and I do believe Jiri actually owned Mambo before being imported here. I know that Hans will talk a big story about this boy and does own one of his sons also, but won't be the most honest when it comes to any faults Mambo may have or produce.  As for a producer I can't say for sure I would like to go to any of his lines, but this is only my opinion. As you know I'm not afraid to speak my peace when it comes to the dogs and their lines as you have seen on my forum too many times. It must be the passion I have for this wonderful breed I call the German Shepherd

Well it is 2am here and I need to get much sleep as I will have a kennel full of dogs demanding my presence first thing in the morning...lol

Yeah. actually I was just thinking, you must be staying up really, really late
Chuck, even if anyone here were to upset me, I'd rather they were honest all the way. The GSD breed is not doing well and we need to put things on the table, the way they are, that's fact!
NO! I am not getting my info from Hans, no disrespect to Hans and / or Jiri, but that wouldn't be my source of info, in fact I could take down quite a few of their statements. I respect Jiri as a long term character in the world of the GSD but Hans is a different story. But I guess that won't make for a topic in my forum. I'd rather people draw conclusions out of facts, time will tell who does / did what.
I will publicly tell you John LaTorre is the only one I am open to learn from, he's a man who loves what he does and not driven by money, nor is he one that breeds the heck out of his dogs.

as vrea sa vad reactia la o persoana straina Nu vreau sa vad cum musca la manson

I would like to see his reaction to a stranger. I'm not interested in his sleeve bite.

If you are talking about Narys, This is the whole reason I have him as he had a person walk up to him while he was on a leash and when they reached out to pet him they found that he was very protective over his handler. Narys grabbed the person by the arm and flipped them onto the ground in which from the crushing strength of his jaws broke the persons arm.  When Narys was a year old I was told that with the deal that was struck with the Policia kennel in which to sell him he was to be shipped back and worked for the full year in which this time he had his Hip ratings done and also had a ZVV-1 title put on him. At 2 years old he was released from the Policia kennels and went back to South Carolina until his owner decided to quit breeding. He was then sold to a young man that really didn't understand this type of dog. I was then contacted by the original owners and was told if I could get Narys out of Canada that I could have him, so I drove up to Canada and smuggled him out as the Canadian courts had placed an order for Narys to be destroyed.

So today he is enjoying his retirement here with no worry's about anything harming him. I feel that this was his 2nd owners fault for this happening as Narys was trained to be this way and only acted in best interests in his owners safety.

Dan you are always welcome to stop in when you are out here next. Here is a malke that I plan to combine my Faro Policia lines with. As you will see these are the lines in which were used when bred to Czech lines. Gustav will hopefully come here in the very near future

I really like Gustav's sire and know he has never hurt anything that was produced by his breedings. Plus if you look at some of the other dogs in this pedigree, you will find that the Czechs used them in their breeding's for improvement to their lines.

I'm told his tempament is almost like Narys. I feel that Gustav will bring strength to my lines as for structure and it allows me to get away from Held and Bero which my lines have a lot of these 2 in them right now, but not loose any workability, Nerve ect. I just think that the over all breeding of him into my lines will not bring me a few steps back but instead a few forward.

Here are a few of Faro Policia at the rip age of 11 yrs old courtesy Of Daryl Ehret

Daryl Ehret i found to be a very knowledgable man, when it comes to DDR & CZECH bloodlines..
Have read many of his posts on other popular working dogs forum a few years back, and recall these photo's of Faro...!
I believe he had a bitch closely bred on Titus Pohranicini straze...

There are different views on Daryl Ehret, Ed Frawley, etc... names out there that have been in the world of the GSD for some years now. I personally draw a line and conclusions AFTER I see what they produce / produced.

Not many guys will show there dogs on video, to show the true colours of the dog.. Especially out of it's comfort zone, out of the normal same old training ground..
The only one that comes to mind is Hulk Eurosport video, where the dog has got some weight and enough speed to give hard hits.. It's the same old lines you read on Kennel sites describing that the dog is civil and crushing firm grips..

I believe it when i see it, just like when i see dogs from Bismack Kennels i say to myself
"this guys got the bloody REAL German Shepherds" going.. LESS TALK AND MORE ACTION - THERE'S NO BULLSHIT....!!

I believe you are referring to Demi Eurosport as she was 2/2 on Titus, But for some reason not willing to explain to me why Daryl sold her not long after she got there. There is a litter male to her still at Eurosport name Drogo z Eurosport which I have tried for years to get a pup out of, but it seems that when there are some they go rather quickly. Daryl had to give up Faro a few years ago to his now ex-wife during their divorce and the last time I talked with Christine Faro was doing well

Yes i believe this to be her, she was fairly close on Titus.. This a few years back was not so common to have close line on Titus..
I got hooked on the look of the DDR type such as Held, Bero and Titus..
Besides the looks, its the reputation of the DDR type being physically healthier and stronger and also the history behind these legendary working dogs..
As i said reading Daryl's posts on Jacques forum, he gave me the impression of being very straight and fair in his views..

I like this photo of Faro..
Looking at his pic at a young age on the DB, he has the similar muzzle shape as Bero on side profile.
As does Titus and Lido Jamirex, i like this side of genetics via Held and Bero..
Tell you the truth its the best thing i like about my dog Casso who has alot of similarity to Bero, well i like to think so anyway :)

totally agree!
OR, they show you a dog biting the sleeve but hey, you could get a really crappy dog to do that and look really impressive both on video and in real life. In this forum, some of us like myself, Santos, Tessa and a few more could tell the colors of the dog just by watching the dog reacting to a stranger, no sleeve no nothing in the picture. Funny enough, we are criticized on that basis and we are told the WUSV champion is IT. I actually feel sorry for such people but that's a different story.

As i said reading Daryl's posts on Jacques forum, he gave me the impression of being very straight and fair in his views..
I got nothing against Daryl, never interacted with him as far as I remember but in forums (and back then particularly on Domburgerland) I noted many praised this and that dog so they can sell their pups / dogs (again I say this, don't get me wrong, I am not making a direct reference to Daryl E). There comes a point when someone would be very interested to purchase a dog through a forum, simply because that forum is a very popular one.. I think of one or two who have done that already and they were not exactly impressed with what they got. From a starting point they were drawn in to make the purchase because of the bloodlines BUT, just because a dog comes from a specific bloodline, it won't automatically mean the produced dog will be a good one. Some of the DDR dogs out there who got very well known dogs in their blood are actually very soft dogs and looks is all they could be praised on.
There seems to be a "quiet" respect for those who have actually sold crappy dogs (and I can think of particular Czech breeders right now) simply because they are big names, but the current state of the GSD demands some action. If we stay quiet and just keep going, before we know it we will be left with sport dogs and show dogs and.. just that.
Some breeders yes, they had it all UP TO  A POINT where they sold all they had good and now they sell crap but people would still buy from them because of their reputation.
It didn't take me long to see what went on in some international, big forums.. and I am glad I for one did not go for all the praises and took no bull. People like Reg, Roger and John were those who had their eyes opened and I am glad all three are part of this forum. Chances are some crappy dogs will also be advertised here, although so far we have been really, really lucky in that respect, but dogs aside, we got REAL people here and I for one, am honored.

I admire the way you state your point of view Dani and there's much more for us to gain if we keep it for real...!
A picture tells a thousand words, but when this picture is in motion(video) it can in a sense give us a bit more than just words and BS..
Would be more upfront if breeders both West and East would promote there stock on video, such as Santos does which we all should very much respect..

Title: Re: Narys Policia Slovakia
Post by: zimbris on December 31, 2011, 10:38:51 PM
Well, as you know, even with videos you can fool one's eyes and mind, like I said sleeve work doesn't show the true colors of a dog; we could say the same about hidden sleeve or bite suit; it's just a routine the dog has gone through before and know what to expect.
I don't care about the "oh your dog looks so fine" type forums, I hope this one will be the "let's do something about the GS dog" type. And, in the end it's what we produce that shows where we stand, do we walk the talk or not.

True Dani repetitive training and common grounds are as we know routine..

Dan I have some respect from Daryl,  But I really lost a bunch when I was trying to gather information about Faro.  Being that I built a major part of my kennel around Faro. When I called Daryl about information about Faro he really didn't or wasn't willing to share what he knew about a dog in which was in his kennel at the time I was asking him.

I also know of some of the big Czech breeders in the Czech Republic that have a good strangle hold onto the market when it comes to dogs available to the U.S. John and I have discussed these 2 people one in the Czech Republic and the other here in the U.S. . You couldn't give me one of the dogs due to many here that have got screwed by these people. What really surprises me that with all the bad business that have been done with people I have read about, that they still have such a following and are able to still sell their crap over and over again.

Chuck would you have any info on Gunner Vom Ramhausen ?
As in character and/or workabilty, i very much like his head strength..

Gunner is a full brother to my Ghost only a couple years younger. He is a littermate to Hanibal Vom Ramhausen.  Gunner looks like a typical Narys Policia and Anzeleka Van Den Heuvel offspring. Narys has a litter mate named Nelson Policia Slovakia, but I have never got a chance to find him or who owns him today if he is still with us.
Here is the line breeding in Nary's breeding which there is only one dog I would have feared when putting this pedigree together and also what could have made this a magic breeding

4 - 4............................................. in SG Grischa vom Schwarzen Milan
    5 - 5............................................. in V Pascha vom Glockeneck
5 - 5............................................. in SG Ina vom Jaresberg
    4 - 4............................................. in Gita Salrak CS
    5 - 5............................................. in Tedd ze Simone
    5 - 5............................................. in Ciba Salrak

Grisha Vom Schwarzen Milan what an awesome worker and great nerve and a real man stopper, but was mildly displastic. As I have found out that he produced the famous Cega B litter which all the litter had great hips and working abilities just like their sire. I feel those were great dogs of our past and you see many dogs today with a B Cega in the lines

Dan I only wish I had the chance to see this awesome male first hand, but I'm going by what I have learned from those who have had the opportunity to see him first hand. What I have been told is that Grisha has had some influence in the genetic back ground of his prodigy. Not always has it been good for hip production, but has good influence in all working end of his genetics. This is where some have went away from his lines due to hip issues, but you and I know that when a dog is weak in one area we bring strong genetics in the said weak point to improve on it. He was one of the types of dogs we grew up looking at, not these damn sport dogs we so often find now

Nice picture of him, I would be interested to see if he is still among the living as he would be 14 now if I am correct. Maybe Sunday afternoon i will call Daryl's ex-wife that now owns him to see if he is still with us or passed away. I know she has some of his frozen semen stored

Yes I checked out the post and made a post myself, looks to be a repeated breeding so I presume we're talking some serious business  ;)
As far as power I am sure he is powerful, I've seen Faro dogs and I like them in that department!
