Working ability is part genetics and part training...and sometimes very much training unless exposed during real work.

But fighting back when a stronger pup wants his food?   Humping the dominant pup?  That's pure genetics.

Roger he and Dino are real great dogs.

I don't think there is much between then now interms of shape and size only differences in personalities.

Dani What you think?

But yours seems to have a real think neck and deep chest.  Wow!

What you been feeding him??

I have just spent around 20 minutes admiring the photos of him.  Am sure he will have an amazing and unique build and shape.  As far as his temprement is concerned I think it speaks for itself when you and Dani have been giving us an insight into it.

Again thanks for the pics.

P.S dont stop!!!

I think "time", as that is the element left to show what comes of these pups. At this moment in time, i would say Dino will be bigger (taller) than Goku, and will have his sire's legs and independent temperament. Goku will be a more "defensive" dog and somewhat "calmer' than Dino, who is "loud" by default  lol   Goku will have a more compact body and I think his head will look a little bit like Happy's, while Dino's head will be closer to his father's.
Actually, you guys can test my ability to "predict" all these things, when time for protection work will come. I say, Goku will do a more defensive, aggressive work (take it really seriously). Goku will bite to protect his boss, Dino will bite because he wants to BE the boss.    ;)

Thanks Zak!  I feed a dog food called Exceed Lamb and Rice, but I supplement it with raw turkey necks...although he has stopped liking them and I will move on to something else.  It may be because he is teething, or about to, I don't know.
Don't worry about pics, Zak, in the last 2 or 3 years I started taking a lot of pictures of my dogs so that I could take notes and have it to look back on....so you will see plenty of pictures!

Thanks Roger,

Turkey necks sounds good.  I found my dog would get the runs when I gave him bones.  Although he is ok with raw meat.

Do you giver your dogs bones and if so what kind?
Any tips?

Multumesc Roger,

gat de curcan, suna bine. Cainele meu are probleme daca ii dau oase.
ceva sfaturi?

I would only give my dogs raw cow bones (spine bones particularly, they love those)

Thanks MS!!  Yea, Goku's legs are just about as big around as Drago's now...lol, probably not, but they're big.

Zak I feed raw chicken, for little pups just chicken and turkey necks and then for older pups goku's age or older I will give them chicken leg quarters every now and then, not every day.   You just have to make sure it's raw...can't be microwaved, boiled, cooked in any way at all or the bones will splinter and could kill them.
But I've never had a dog have problem eating raw chicken and chicken bones, although all I usually feed them is the legs and thighs.  (and necks for babies).

It is a little concerning to some people about the raw chicken bones, but think about how many dogs have killed chickens and not died.   They're ok, as long as they are not cooked in any way.  IMO

Multumesc MS!

Parerea mea.

Yes, only cow bones, and only raw! Sometimes I boil the bone to get only the spine.  :)
Anyway, it's well known that chicken, fish or lamb bones are very dangerous for dogs and completely contraindicated, not mentioning the pork (meat and bones!)

Uneori fierb osul pentru a scoate maduva doar.  :)

Well, I wouldn't let her repeat that action too often. I always thought that in cases where it's possible it's better to prevent than to treat.

I agree with Thara that i would rather stay away from the element of risk, but then also, i consider wolves in the wild when they are lucky and hunt some gees or whatever.. also, Ben and Uzi used to hunt doves and eat them, they never had one tiny problem.

No, carnivores have no problems with bones as long as they aren't cooked in any way.  If you boil, microwave or bake or fry or any other way of heating bones, that is what causes them to be brittle and splinter off.
People always believed chicken bones were bad for dogs because they gave them left overs and that will kill them, or can.
I do not want to make anyone uncomfortable though, if they are with feeding raw chicken legs and thighs.  I think it's very good for them, though.

Now, pork, neither raw or cooked is good for dogs, they do not have the right enzymes to break pork down and it can cause much trouble.   I do not ever feed pork to dogs.

well i think, in theory, ANY raw meat / bone could potentially be good for them...
I fed my dogs chicken legs before.. nothing happened...
