This is the old blood you see the old DDr type here. He was a very big pup 24 + lbs @ 8 weeks old. Notice ears are alway slow to go up on the big ones

yes, it kind of makes sense for a big type to be slower on ears.
I know I asked you before but I forgot what you said, did you breed Sammy so far? I like the looks of his sire.

First time i seen Sammy D about 3 years ago on your web site John, i thought man now thats a bloody DDR type alright..!
Looks really nasty not only with the head strength, but the dark eyes also..
