I believe that a truly representative male should be presented to the world, even if this means teaching him to pose. Although these dogs are not bred for show, they should be promoted so as people have a full image of this breed. Keeping a good dog in the backyard is not advisable, especially if we care about the direction the breed is taking.
The future of the breed it's not found in posing or in show stances, that's what most owners are doing and look at where things are at present time. Then again, I am not saying "no pose" at all, after all the show has a purpose of its own (one that was taken to an extreme, for personal ambitions and money) but I am just saying things are not moving around this element. "Show" the dog so the judge can judge it to be a dog that "looks" like a GS dog. And that's enough.

for personal ambitions and money)  Personal satisfaction...!

"Show" the dog so the judge can judge it to be a dog that "looks" like a GS dog. And that's enough.
40kg solid straight back, thick square legs paws, with square muzzle and strong underjaw;short to medium firm ears .
Dark pigmentation and thick coat..
Most of all to have  courage and hardness above 80%, this is a GS dog IMO...!

I guess the croup has to be lower than the shoulder line but that was taken way out to extremes.

Hello Dani,

Hun all so just like Briska did a good job on the sand.

Dani your right when you said that you think Briska is alittle more sharper than Hun,
maybe time may prove otherwise.

Regards
Sam.

She is sharper because she is older. Hun is still young although he already has a good fight inside of him and like you said in time that will be more visible. Hun is closer to the old type of dog, in the sense that he is calmer but when he switches into watch mode he is a different dog. My next door neighbors did some roof work after heavy rains, just days ago and they could be seen from inside my yard and Hun jumped on top of the kennel to get to them with a nasty reaction and for seconds he kept going at them, by the time I got the camcorder to get it on video the workers were off the roof. Hun has the more civil touch but is a calm dog, that's why I see in him the old type.

EXCELLENT!!!.

That's what i like to hear.

Hopefuly you will have the complete German Shepherd one day, temperment and look's.

This is a very difficult thing to achieve, character alone is difficult to achieve let alone the complete
package.

Regards
Sam.

Very well said Sam! Striking gold doesn't happen that easily as we know. Ben, my first GS dog was an extremely sharp dog, when he was only 6 months old I had the first real bite case, with the bloke who got bit being sent to my residence to see that the dog was shot for Rabies (following doctor's advice). He wasn't that thick but just fine in terms of build. To me, that was the "perfect" GS dog.

A 3a sesiune, scurta si la subiect. L-am lasat legat in fatza casei unui vecin si am filmat de la distanta, sa fie singurel apoi am traversat strada si m-am apropiat sa prind un cadru mai bun.  Nu i-am main pus hamul si in felul asta l-am cam strangulat dar merge, cateva secunde acolo...
Sunt multumit de el, cat l-am lasat singur a stat relaxat, si-a marcat teritoriul, n-a avut niciun stres. O s-o tin in  sesiuni de-astea scurte iar peste cateva saptamani trecem si la muscat.
Cum spuneam, Briska va lua o pauza pana prin Ianuarie.
S-au uitat cei din zona mai stramb la mine dar le trece

Third agitation session for Hun, evening quick session, left by himself in front of a neighbor's house for a few minutes and then had my friend making a move. I am glad with Hun's reaction, he was relaxed when alone, marked his territory and then he responded accordingly to my friend's move.

Ah, cat imi place reactia lui! Se comporta super, chiar si cand nu esti langa el. Nu a dat nici macar jumatate de pas inapoi!

Hun is displaying really good confidence and the seriousness is there, he moves forward with nice bark and rythym..
I like also how we can see his character when alone, marking his area and very observant with no sign of concern or worries..
Just like to say that possibly the session could of been shorter, and maybe next time get another aggitator..
I would say no more than 10 seconds to strengthen his confidence to be more defensive/civil.. Just a suggestion.. :)
All the best in the next couple of months with Hun's training, he's a great dog..

Da, a stat relaxat acolo n-a avut nicio jena, iar cand Andi si-a facut "mutarea" Hun a fost pe pozitie.

Yes, that's why I got this on video, I wanted to document his behavior and needless to say it was great to note him marking the territory and being confident when provoked.

Actually the session was longer but I didn't get it on video; I walked out of my yard and stopped a few meters away from Andi (my friend) and waited for a few seconds. Without any movement from Andi, Hun started to bark at him and then I gave Andi the sign to approach with provoking moves but the point is, Hun had a go without being provoked which I like. After that we did the bit you see on video, with Hun being left alone in that place and I crossed the street to get the video. I am really content with Hun's overall behavior, he is a calm dof but responds well when provoked. Yeah.. I may shorten the sessions in the future... Maybe get to bitework sometime in December or January.. we'll see, based on the reaction I see.
All the best in the next couple of months with Hun's training, he's a great dog..
Thank you sir!
