So true Dani thats a rare photo indeed, with that angle and type of dog..

Would have loved to see the actual video, if it's 1988 I may have the clip.. I will check on that when I get home.
Ok here we go, but I may be wrong...

Hmmm nope, that's a different dog, the one in the picture is pretty much "flying", while the one in the video shoots for a more regular/normal bite.

As i had mentioned in another post, this dog here above has inherited that typical build you will see coming from
Held v Ritterberg.. Its the underchest development with that masculine head which makes it so appealing in my view..!

Bob von der Neptungrotte FH PSH3 SchH.3 IP3 brought in to usa for Mary Coppage
I do not think she kept Bob long she was not pleased with what she bred from him. But Mary likes conformation and also mixed bloodlines like all the rest of the people did then. They did not want to have more of what the dogs were just what they think they were improving so it fails when you do not breed the same way these dogs were breed. She sold Bob to another women who told me Bob was the best dog but guess what she failed at producing anything close to him or what he could have. Why?? Mixing the bloodlines. Bob is unique as there were only a few ddr dogs with the bloodline from the

Seems like I read the same story over and over again, about how DDR dogs were bred once they got into American hands. In a funny yet stupid way, I bet they fell into the hands of women because of their actual good looks (thick bone, pigment, expression etc) and needless to say such people were judging / promoting dogs mostly based on looks. If I'm not wrong, they bred the crap out of Neumann's J dogs to American show line bitches. In short, looks and looks and looks...

Thanks very much John for the info on Bob... Seems like 1 of many wasted genes, not enough trial and error where..
Combining DDR blood as you said John, just like it had been for more than two and half decades or more..
This dog should of been utilised more like Bero v Friedershofer Flur was..
Looks will always bring in business, in most area's where $$$$$$ need to be made..

Yup, it's one of the elements that's bringing the breed to its knees.

It's easy to note they are the wrong individuals to actually breed this breed of dogs; "Frisby competition champion" and such.. makes me sick to my stomach, don't know if I should laugh or cry...
