V Golf vom Ritterberg has the best DDR rating i have seen, the fourth digit he was given a '5' which we hardly see.
And also the last 2 digits for sharpness/hardness courage, he was given a '5' '5' NOW thats something we also have not seen in other well regarded DDR males.. He must of been 1 nasty K9...!

do you realize not many pay attention to those details..? But that's very likely because not many truly show interest in these details and they just limit themselves to admiring the build and quickly taking a look at the first 5 generations in the blood. If they read some material about the DDR rating method, they would get to know more about the dog.

Am sure the old school enthusiasts, would place alot of emphasis on the score rating.. Those looking for the correct balance in character, structure and health ofcourse.. But imagine those DDR type bred dogs who did not enter the arena for shows, the ones who were really only for protection.. That's the type that many would not like to see; i guess these days..

The type meaning un-registered 'breeders' who would not be so strict in there breeding programme, where something like pimentation, Ear fault or the risk of 'minor chance' of hip/elbow issues, will not stop them from pursuing in breeding the naturally Protective Civil type of K9 there after..
IMO we have to be a bit more lenient and not so strict if our aim was to preserve a classic 'old school' type working dog...
Other wise we will only reproduce what we have today "CRAP WITH PAPER"...!!!!!!!!

ohh.. thank you for putting it in words I could understand
Yes I agree with what you say, we definitely should be more lenient with regards to some aspects and not as much with regards to other. As with anything else in life, there are the "negotiable" and the "non-negotiable".

I'm with you on this one too
