With our breeding here with our breeding program I look back at the least 10 generations back to see just what dogs are there along with siblings ( Litter-mates ). Just cause there are many great dogs in a pedigree doesn't tell me what their litter mates have produced. I call it looking at the vertical pedigree ( looking at litter-mates to the dogs in the pedigree). I have been doing much line breeding with my litters to help keep my lines tight with what has been working here at our place with only few out crosses. Like I said earlier that I go back 10 generations and sometimes farther when there are dogs in which bring up red flags or when I see the same dog in a pedigree too much.
I find myself looking at a breeding sometimes a year before it actually happens to give me time to gather up all the information well before the breeding takes place.
There really isn't any type of guarantee when doing our breeding, but I sure like to have the odds stacked in my favor for sure. Now I have been approuched by a big kennel here in the U.S wanting to breed some of their frozen semen to my girls. Dogs are as followed: Norbo Ben Ju, Faro Policia, Congo Vikar, and .Cak Pisecna Boure. I know there are a few dogs in which I would have wanted here in my kennel. Now to research what would match with my girls best
