What I seen and heard in the last 2 decades is breeders like to take advantage of naive and inexperienced new ententhusiasts. Making claims of there new import stock is top class.
Even to the point of stating that this is the Stud dog, when in actual fact is not.
A black dog is a black dog and easy to manipulate the mating.
Paper work is all manipulated and misleading.
I keep hearing that mean.. I understand and respect that you guys don't mention names and let me just say some of these names are being talked about in other (online) places. It's not the nature of this forum to have an eye on these people but be sure to know things don't go unnoticed.
While I support the idea of breeding to a no-paper dog that PROVES to produce quality pups with different bitches, I also support the thought that this type of breeding should be done on "opened stage", I guess kind of like I did with Axa's second litter.
Also, I believe that, in some cases, one who buys a dog that has a parent different to that specified on paper, but the dog is actually smashing good, if one then goes ballistic over the paper detail, one is a bit of a weirdo, if they wanted a good dog and not have breeding in plan.
If I would not breed GSD's, I couldn't care less if my dog came from a paper mother and a no paper father (or the other way around) as long as the dog is all I want it to be.
But the truth remains that, one who strives to serve the breed, has to consider papers. I will say though, that this very truth or concept is under attack, since most of the paper "top" dogs of our days are "crap" dogs (excuse my choice of words). That is one of the reasons I chose to go to John, as I try and stay close to the old blood as much as that is possible, since "modern" blood is compromised. That's my most noble option (old blood with papers), my second option being to look at old school, no paper dogs. Am not afraid to admit it. But even there, I've seen some of those old school dogs producing pups and they DO NOT reproduce themselves (with some exceptions)... so again one has to stop and think and do things "by the book".. genes!
DNA....

Yes, simple and practical (though expansive in some cases).
