Nor was there any question of any argument, but opinion about each of us:)
I understand that you asked for advice about that because the dog's owner is living in a dangerous area and if he can rely on the dog in a real situation. For me a real dog means a dog that I leave in the yard or a property that he has to guard and nobody can get in without my consent or if I'm on the street and I'm attacked by an aggressor, he attack without me giving him the attack command. I said that the owner make the muzzle test and not to agitate the dog before in idea that a real aggresor will not agitate him.
Finally, the owner must be satisfied by the way that his dog guards him.

No tension from me, I defer to Santos in regards to training.
There is always a lack when training is viewed from clips or pictures without actually seeing a dog in person, and I don't take any criticism of a clip or picture personally.   You know, unless it's my dog.

Seriously, Santos is very respected by me.

sure thing, i got that! But what i am saying is, it's better to have a bit of tension or "competition" in thoughts and arguments as long as it's all meant to be constructive, if we all agreed on anything or everything, than we would be most likely "sat" on flat ground, instead of "moving" in one direction or another (I think..  :) )

it's true, one can only judge in part, when analysis is done just by viewing videos.. and oh yes it's true, nobody can judge my own dog!!   tazi  :gunner:

just to say, I know Santos pretty well and I know he doesn't want to "take down" arguments that are different to his own. In fact, he is probably wishing he could work alongside Bob or Leo and put some training differences to test  ;)

yeah.. let's wait for things to come together and maybe in the long run we can put together a few days of training, good food and good laughs. I got a feeling it will take a while before that happened, but it's not impossible..

Why not?  Nothing is impossible for real dog keeper!  ;)
Let say one gathering every year, it just took only six years to complete ... if two venues a year, can be done in 03 years!
By doing this, we build net work and we can share some bloodlines too!

You didn't mention Texas.

Actually Bob may very well be talked into (by me!) a vacation to Romania to check out your training and dogs.  He will have a vacation and was going to Holland to check out Dutchies, but he is starting to get interested in real deal GSDs.  So, you guys may see him after all.

I may not be able to travel for a while, but we can sure host a nice working weekend of dogs on my kennel partner's 100 acre home place.   It's out in the woods, you can see what we have working here and eat some good Texas food.
