The first one looks like a real hunter with a thick muzzle and old style expression..
They all look like classic working dogs..

i would definitely say those were the "golden" days of the breed, not the current times, unfortunately..  Not because I am fond to the old east dogs, but because i compare them to what I see nowadays and.. well, things don't look bright in present time, in my view.

you know what that last picture shows, right..? they placed dynamite on dogs and sent then straight to death, there are a few clips on youtube, not the most pleasing sights...
the ones with the handler and dog getting off the ship is gold!

yeah. but there was also time that they teaches the dog to left the dynamite under those tanks and return before they detonate it. but how sad for other dogs suffer death! i also saw the clips on the youtube.

yeah... I can Imagine they did not do that too often (killing the dog in the process) as that would mean loosing many dogs and they were actually needed. I am presuming there are papers documenting things like that..

i guess they only do it if its really or part of the last option. sacrificing those great dogs! i wonder if somebody would do that or make some documentary movie in Animal Planet or Discovery Channel.
