guys, thanks alot for such nice sharing of information and discussion about DDR dogs. i myself love DDR dogs. aside from being "head" turner when it comes to looks, i really like their hardness and balance.

prieteni, multumesc mult pt discutiile pe tema caini DDR-isti. Si eu iubesc acesti caini. Pe langa faptul ca "te dau pe spate" in privinta aspectului, imi place mult duritatea si echilibrul lor.
ceva informatii despre cainele asta (Bodo)?

Dani there are some titles and HD ratings missing from this copy of the pedigree. I have bred from the bloodline added other old east german bloodline. This is "Big" Sammy D vom Ostschutz 5 months old 57lbs this come for the gene pool. John

Lipsesc titluri si rezultate HD din copia asta a pedigreului. Am scos niste monte din sangele respectiv, am adaugat ceva sange estic (DDR) diferit. Din baza genetica respectiva il am pe Sammy D vom Ostschutz (la varsta de 5 luni avea deja 25 kg)

I like the look of this dog  'Dexter vom Schladebacher Waldchen',  he is very good on paper also. Yet no info of progeny on the base,
its dogs like this that were probaly not utilised enough..

Sounds like the base is not always relevant, some would just simply not mention their dogs on it. If everything is OK with the dog, we may see some progenies in the future, I see he is still young.

Hi, I don't know if there is an introduction thread, I have been so busy soaking up this wonderfully informative forum.   Just would like to say I have learned more in the last hour or so reading (great info, John!  And Zimbris!) than I have in a LONG time about the German Shepherds I like the most (DDR).

thank you for the kind comments on the forum, I am glad you found enough info to bring you up to date with things. Be assured that with someone like John around here you will be exposed to valuable info on the DDR dogs. John has a vast knowledge on the east dogs, particularly from the DDR lines.

Coincidentally I had just heard about John from someone that recommended that I speak to him (or actually, listen) if I wanted to learn something.

I also love that dog Grief...that is your dog, correct?

yes Santos has it with him in Iasi, further north from where we live. When I say we I mean myself and "Dux". We have not seen a dog like Greif in years, well.. I mean not with documents. There are still tough dogs around but not with FCI, SV (etc) documents.
Let me tell you I too would recommend John to any one interested in the east dogs. The man has a passion for these dogs and I believe where there's passion, there will also be a fruit of that passion.
