I spoke with Nicu earlier and I concluded that the CO is a great dog for guarding purposes but not really that great as a family dog. I never actually handled CO dogs so i try and know the breed based on what others say and with that in mind I would say the dog is very good in guarding but there are question marks as far as other aspects go. It's the common element I spot in most comments about the breed. What's certain is that you got people out there simply loving the big breeds, in general. To me it's just a dog like the Pitbull, for example - "just" another dog, but one that requires special attention under certain conditions.
Since I mentioned the Pitbull, i would like to know your opinions on the breed. More than once I got really close to buying one but I didn't in the end. It's not the type of dog I would live at home with my child on the premises. I once had to look after a one year old Red Nose bitch and I learned she was genetically programmed to turn rather intense under particular conditions, if not towards humans, surely towards animals. Still, I may not love the breed anymore but I certainly respect it.
